What is a Field Inspector?

As I was a Field Inspector from 2007 to 2014, some people have asked what that is.

A Field Inspector is an independent contractor who is hired to provide a visual inspection of real estate or equipment, usually for a lender, insurance company or investor.

In my case, I provided commercial property inspections on office buildings, warehouses, retail shopping centers or stores, and apartments; I also did some residential home external inspections.

I am no longer offering any type of field inspections. I continue to mention it here only because people do ask about it and it was a type of work that I did during the mortgage meltdown years.
